Scouts

Scouts are young people usually aged between ten and a half and fourteen years old. They belong to the middle Section in the Scouting family. We recommend Young people join Scouts once they have reach ten and a half. There is a noticeable difference between Cubs and Scouts. They can move to the next Section, Explorers, once they have reached their fourteenth birthday.

Easily recognised by their distinctive green shirts, Scouts enjoy an active programme with personal responsibilities. They play more active and team games, visit unusual places, hike and camp outside fairly often and take part in adventurous activities. They usually meet together once a week as a Scout Troop.

Most Scout Troops take part in sleepovers and adventurous camping. Most Scouts have spent nights away from home before. They take place in suitable buildings, often unusual and exciting and sometimes camp where there is no mains services.
